I highly recommend searching Slickdeals for the previous PX701-4K refurbished post from last month. Some good information in there.

It's $499 - nothing else compares at this price. Image is bright and visible in almost any light setting and colors/blacks are great after some calibration.

Some users complained about washed out colors and grayish blacks but my unit is fine. Color accuracy under the default settings may not be great but is satisfying after minor calibration. Also, the throw is longer so check the datasheet's placement distance to see if it works for your room.

Agree, I have the 701 and it was a good deal at $800 new, smoking at 499 refurb. Plenty bright for folks who don't have dedicated HT rooms or basements.

Also, I wouldn't sit on this deal too long. It'll be gone. There's also cashback for Woot through PayPal.

Through Woot, right? There should be information on the manufacturer warranty as well - usually a passthrough by Woot.

And awesome, congrats! You'll love it. What screen do you have? I recommend calibrating the brightness and contrast using YouTube videos. There aren't any good color settings so play around with them until you find some satisfactory.

Yep it sold out like a week ago on eBay and Amazon. I was too late and didn't get a chance to get one. There is one for $599 refurbished though on Amazon: ViewSonic PX701-4K 4K UHD 3200 Lumens 240Hz 4.2ms Home Theater Projector with HDR, Auto Keystone, Dual HDMI, Sports and Netflix Streaming with Dongle on up to 300" Screen https://a.co/d/gjkwLR4

i bought a 100" but i can only place the projector 8ft away from the screen. i googled the calculator and it say the max size image for this projector at that distance is 70". is that true?

Yes, you're restricted to a 70" image but it'll be nice and bright! Are you doing a front table placement?

Grabbed the ViewSonic PX701-4K and a 110" screen. Can't wait. Hoping I won't need to ceiling mount.

Why would you ever get a projector for a 70 inch screen? 70 inch TV's aren't expensive! Tv's are a much better experience. I have a 120 inch projector setup in my house and if I could get a 100 inch TV I absolutly would swap it to a TV. TV's are brighter to view and have an overall better picture quality, the benefit of projectors is the cost per inch of viewing area which is negated by a small 70 inch screen here! Maybe if I had an RV or something where space wa a concern and I couldn't fit a 70 inch TV but could project it on the side of the RV during trips. This would be a use case I could see for such a small screen projector! Well golf simulator would be a good use case as you don't want to hit golf balls at a TVlaugh out loud

Lol, wrong person! Take it up with the other guy and I was going to make the same argument but saved my typing.
