I decided to jump on this. For anyone interested, this comes in the original box, however it will not be shrink-wrapped. The laptop, however, was wrapped in plastic as if it was new, and appears flawless. I had to call Apple and provide a photo of my receipt to initiate the manufacturer's warranty, including AppleCare+ (I have not added it yet).

Very satisfied so far; I needed the 32GB for VMs, remote work, Logic Pro, and just not having to worry as much about how much stuff is going on at once.

EDIT - The warranty information has populated in the Settings > General > About section. Limited warranty is 1 year, unlike the 90 days listed on the Microcenter website. Also says I have 61 days to add AppleCare+.

Picked one from Houston. There were 3 this afternoon. When I picked up, there was still 1 remaining.
Cosmetically, how is it? Does it appear to be an Apple refurb?

16.2" for not much more, although it is 16GB. I'd snag it if it were available near me.
Seems like an underrated comment. Way better warranty.

Cosmetically, the laptop is in perfect condition. It came in the original box with everything present inside. Just how would you expect from an apple certified refurbished product. It showed that the warranty was expired, but I was able to get on a call with Apple coustmer care, and they helped me validate the purchase date of the laptop and now I have full 1 year of limited warranty provided by the Apple. The only thing I am missing right now is that I can't add Apple care +, which I don't plant to do anyway.

This is used, the OP's one is refurbished. There is a difference.
I'd rather buy it certified pre-owned rather than refurbished, they don't send them out to Apple to get refurbished. They do it in house.

I would get one today if one was in stock nearby, the closest is 300 miles. They don't ship from store to store nor are they willing to ship it to me lol.

I got one from the store in Chicagoland. Two were left.

I was told by MicroCenter that it comes with 90-day vendor warranty in the store. But thanks to your info about calling Apple Support. I was able to have the purchase date updated and now I have 1 year warranty.

Source? I saw the used one, it was a stock box with some tape. The refurb was shrink wrapped marked "apple certified refurbished"

The customer service feller through the online chat box. I asked him what the difference was the same time I asked about shipping.

This is what I found on the product page of that mac;

"Once the Online Repair Technician has determined that your unit is in need of replacement, bring your Product to your local Micro Center Service Department. We will gladly handle any warranty repairs involving replacement free of charge. Micro Center should be able to replace your Product or refund your purchase price, if applicable, when you return your Product to the local Micro Center Service Department."

I called Apple to reset the purchase date. They sent a link to upload the receipt and that was it.

Thanks OP. This came back in stock for my store location and I was able to get one:

- The box is the original box (not the certified refurb box that's all white). The box is not wrapped however and clearly looks not new.
- The laptop inside is vinyl wrapped and cosmetically in perfect condition. No scratches anywhere (just a few smudges which I could clean up easily) and the keyboard looks unused as well.
- The accessories (the charger and the magsafe cable) are all brand new.
- The battery is also new, at least according to System Info (cycle count 2, capacity 100%)
- The SSD is also quite new, much better than some refurbs I purchased directly from Apple (300gb read / 200gb write after updating the OS to the latest version).

Overall very happy with it so far.
