The Endorphin line was created to compete against the Nike VaporFly or AlphaFly series of shoes which were (and still are) winning all the premier running races. These used really big stack heights, exaggerated heel and toe off and advanced foam (with usually an energy return plate - this specific model doesn't have) to hopefully create the extra few % benefit for runners to benefit from. Though this is the 'trainer' in the Endorphin line without most of the tech and is more about the fitment matching with it being the lowest end foam and no plate.

Out of curiosity, why is this a front page deal when DSW sells Saucony at as much as 60% off or more? I just bought a pair of Ride 15's for $32 delivered and so far I like them very much..great deal too!

I have tried both the Ride, Guide 15, Endorphin Speed and Pro, to answer your question, Endorphin line has PEBA foam that is more responsive and has better energy return normally used in "higher" end shoes. Smilie Ride 15 uses EVA foam, which is used in most cushioned daily trainer.

IMO, the Shift 3 is not particularly popular (there will be no Shift 4 from what I've heard) and likely will go lower than this if you're not time sensitive.

I am no runner nor an athlete by any means but looking for comfort (walking and standing at work for hours). Would this be good for that?
No, the aggressive roller on this shoe would make it poor for standing, IMO.

The shift also uses EVA foam. The shift does not use any PEBA foam

Best to avoid run-specific EVA models and only buy a shoe when it's a least 50% off MSRP.
Agreed, I remember getting new Triumphs for $30 a few years back. $80+ isn't so slick.

That's what I'm talking about! $30+ should be the threshold for Front Page. Not $80+

The Shift is not a *real* Endorphin. It does not have PEBA like the Speed and Pro models. The midsole is an EVA+TPU blend. At $150 MSRP the shoe is overpriced.

Keep in mind that the Speed 3 at $160 is still a better deal than a Shift at $82. PEBA foam delvers a more enjoyable experience and has significantly better longevity than EVA. EVA packs out in less than 100 miles. EVA is archaic technology from the 1980s. No runner should be using a Shift and casual users looking for a walking shoe should have jumped on the DSW Triumph or Ride deals this summer. The Shift is downgrade compared to the Triumph.

These good for every day walking on concrete?
I would recommend a different shoe for walking. It's certainly fine but I thought the "SpeedRoll" was best for running activities. You probably would want a softer feel too, YMMV.
I like the NB Fresh Foam X More v4 for walking!

Thank you, in for one. I am hoping this could be a good rotation shoe with my Rincon 3.

I own about 10 pairs of Saucony shoes they feel like they were custom-made for me. I have run countless miles in them without experiencing any feet problems, pain, or blisters. I am very satisfied with their performance and durability. If they get a little dirty, I simply throw them in the wash and they look like new again. Despite two years of heavy use, they have held up remarkably well.
