I think they made their name in tactical (as you thought - can be niche)
The short version is this light is designed not to produce any kind of arc or spark (or enough heat) to cause ignition in areas where there might be flamable gas or dust.

It also has a lifetime warranty.
tl;dr version: This is a light for designed industrial use to keep you from blowing yourself up in flammable environments.

edit: also have an abused Stinger Switchblade old enough to get a driver's license... they only came out 6 years ago but you get the idea 😅
