Amazon and eBay are full of these MSR pocket rocket clones. Don't know if the one I have is the same brand but it looks absolutely identical. $8 is a good price and these things are dead reliable. The one thing I had concerns about was the piezo electric ignition. I've been using it for five years now and it fires up first time, every time. Brings water to a boil very quickly.

Note that isobutane fuel is not the heavy gauge metal green propone bottles you use with Coleman stoves. These are the much lighter, thin walled isobutane canisters that come in a variety of sizes. They're all flat bottomed and become the stove base when you screw this stove onto the top. Cheapest place I've found to buy them is the Walmart camping section, where they're available in two sizes.

Biggest drawback with this stove is it's so tiny that you really have to be careful centering the cooking vessel on the fold out supports. Don't plan on cooking with anything larger than maybe a 1 quart pot and even that would be a bit of a stretch. These are designed for ultra lightweight backpacking.

Menards has 8.1oz canisters for these on clearance for $1.99.
KILLER deal.
When the lights go out and the faucets don't run, these will be great to boil water to drink safely.

Believe it or not, water existed prior to the invention of indoor plumbing.

You do not need electricity to open a faucet (unless you have a touchless faucet of course). Water in pipes is held at a higher pressure than that of the air around us, which is what allows it to flow "up" through plumbing. In most municipalities, that pressure is generated by the tall water towers that supply that municipality's water. It's helpful to think of faucets as water regulators that hold water back. When a faucet is open, it simply allows the water to flow through.

I've had something like this that I got on Amazon for ~$8 for over a decade now. No complaints using it as a backpack or backup stove. I've seen similar stoves for 10x as much. I suppose they could be worth that if they are significantly more fuel efficient (maybe?) and you're weight- or space-constrained for fuel. For a normie camper, the cheap versions seem plenty good. On the other hand, if you're such a normie that you're never planning on backpacking, I'd get a bigger stove. There are a lot of advantages to a remote stove design over types like this one that use the fuel canister as a structural component.

A slight amendment to an earlier comment: you *can* use this with a propane canister, but you'll need an adapter. I got a two pack on Amazon for ~$11 a few years ago. You'll also want a foot/support to hold up the canister because otherwise it will be too top heavy. Finally, I have read that you'll want to keep the burner dialed to medium or below when burning propane to keep the stove from failing. Don't worry, it's still plenty hot. I wouldn't be surprised if it's less efficient at turning propane into heat than a good stove that was designed for propane, but mine is *more* efficient than my crappiest propane stove (which was quite a bit spendier IIRC—something like $35).

I have one of these. It's a terrible design. I would not pay $8 dollars for it. I wouldn't even take it if it was free.

Thanks for adding nothing to the discussion by not elaborating on why it's a terrible design.
