New to gaming PCs, how much money would I save with a custom build with the same specs?

The 4070 ti currently is around $800 and the 7900x is a little over $400. So that's over $1200 just for the the CPU and GPU.

That being said, this is Dell. They are going to cheap out on other parts and go with inferior quality. I also don't think the the 4070ti is a good value considering it has only 12 gigs of ram.

If you build it or yourself or had a friend build it for you, you would probably spend a more for the exact same specs, but you'd get much better quality in all the other parts. I would also personally go with a 7800x3D CPU (which is slightly cheaper and better for gaming) and a 7800XT GPU which is around $500 instead.

~2K for a 4080 system is actually really nice. Too bad it's a dell. Proprietary parts, shitty cooling, low quality parts, idk, I would still consider it if I was shopping for a new gaming rig. $1200 for the 4080 $400 for the cpu, that leaves $400 for the rest of the system, and I don't think I could build something with the same specs for that price.

Its not money at this point, mostly just time, and the Lenovo Legions use more standard parts and are better designed for cooling, Dell is a mess.
