Architecturally, there is more difference between the two than just clock speed. The 6800 uses the Navi 21XL, which has 60 CU's and 60 ray accelerators, while the 6800 XT uses the Navi 21XT, which has 72 CU's and 72 ray accelerators. On average, there is probably a 10-12% difference between the two at 1440p.
Compared to the 6800, the 6800xt has (the second number in each comparison is the 6800xt): 60 vs 72 CUs, 3840 vs 4608 gpu cores, 60 vs 72 ray accelerators, a higher boost and game clock (numbers depend on the aib model), 96 vs 128 ROPs, 240 vs 288 TMUs, and a reference tdp of 250w vs 300w (depends on the aib model). The 6800xt is anywhere between 10-16% faster on average, with the difference being larger at higher resolutions.

Considering the XFX Speedster SWFT 319 6800xt was on sale very recently for $430, the 6800 has been sitting at $430 for months and has already dipped down to $400 previously, and the general downwards trend of gpu prices in general (exacerbated by the release of the 7800xt), I can only consider this as a decent but not exceptional deal. Anyone willing to wait will likely be able to find a better deal, though if you really need a gpu right this instant this deal isn't bad.
Considering the recent $430 for 6800xt, this would need to be around 380 range to be considered a sweet deal.

Nah. May be next year when 7800 XT drop from $500 to $400 and 6800 xt will be $300.
Now prices still high and 6800 non-XT not good as XT for 4K/60 on Ultra settings.
And yes, 16GB GPU RAM is new standard.

Man, I regret not jumping on the 6800xt. I am fairly certain it was a price mistake because both their 6800 and 6800xt were listed at $430. I think Amazon made a mistake and fixed it after 1-2 days.

I just want to play Starfield on 1440p in ultra settings. Currently using GeForce Now and loving the graphics, but I hate having to log into my windows for GamePass through their app everytime, and time getting times out of idle for 7mins.

My current 1070ti can't seem to handle Starfield 1440p even at low settings lol

Or 6800xt stock will be gone.

my 5700 XT on default driver settings shows stable 40fps in Neon city
50fps if crowd/grass/reflections - low and shadows - medium
Anyway Starfield not optimized and graphics too old and shitty.
And I play in Baldur's Gate 3 on ultra settings 4K, game MUCH better in everything.

5700 XT from eBay just $120-150.

AMD drivers makes all their cards trash no matter how much they cost
That is a very aggressive blanket statement, and one that both the vast majority of tech reviewers and the vast majority of average users across a wide variety of tech forums seem to disagree with. To be clear, I'm not insinuating that amd drivers are better than nvidia drivers, or even that they're not worse than nvidia drivers. However, the general sentiment across the wide variety of tech related mediums I peruse is that amd drivers, particularly in the past few years, do not provide a meaningfully worse user experience compared to nvidia drivers. There are obviously advantages and disadvantages to both, for instance nvidia is generally ahead in software features and their drivers do tend to be slightly more stable. On the other hand, amds' adrenalin software is generally superior to nvidias' control panel and geforce experience (which requires you to log in to a nvidia account).
None of this takes away from the advantages that nvidia does have: dlss, better raytracing, cuda, nvenc, better power efficiency, more optimized performance in certain productivity workloads, etc. Likewise, amds' drivers are not worse to a meaningful degree such that they mitigate amds' advantages: far better value for gaming in dollars per frame (particularly in raster), and significantly more vram at the same price tier.
Also, to hopefully preemptively ward off any ad-hominem attacks about me being an "amd fanboy", I'm currently running a nvidia gpu in my computer and happen to think both amd and nvidia are greedy corporations that don't give a crap about their customers. If you've got any actual data to back up amd's drivers being a major concern I'll gladly retract my statements.

On the newegg page, under the "details" section of the "specs" tab, it lists: "Power Connector - 3 x 8-Pin". The third product image also shows the top of the gpu, where three 8-pin connectors are visible.

Last GPUs that supported the remnants of SLI, allows for pooling the VRAM for AI requirements cheaply.

Would this be a significant upgrade from a 3060 TI?
