Worth paying 40% more than the LOQ one? Both are 4060.

Legion Pro 5 is great overall but beware of subpar speakers. The sound quality is poor. That's roughly the only weakness of this laptop, and it's not obvious so you may end up with remorse.

Stretch the budget to Legion Pro 7 if speaker quality is important.

I do a lot of 4k editing for weddings. Will this make my workflow fast without needing to create proxy files? Thanks

Not worth it. Mobile 4060 and 4070 has the same performance. Thank Nvidia

Same as the 30x0 series it's more important to look at the wattage numbers on these, a 4060 with a higher wattage can outperform a lower wattage 4070 for sure.

Keep in mind that their is almost no difference between an i9 and i7 in a laptop:

The difference between a 4060, and 4070 probably isn't worth the price difference here either.

Also B&H doesn't allow laptop returns if you open the box, so make sure you know this is what you're looking for before you buy.

They are both capped at 100 watts. Same exact performance at that point

It's up to 20% faster at 100 watt TDP but I tend to agree that's not great from a cost / benefit analysis.

The TDP limit does artificially limit the utility of the 4070 but the performance is not identical. Do a quick Google image search for "4070 power scaling" to see how it compares against 4060 (and 4050) at various wattages.

Its more like 10 percent best case scenario. Unless they changed it with a patch recently

For those of you wondering, I'm pretty sure this laptop's screen is 500 nits, based on this datasheet:
