I've been researching mattresses for a couple months now and while I'm confident I'd like a hybrid, this space is flooded with options from companies who rarely, if ever, sell their products at "regular price" making determining the value of a mattress next to impossible...

This is a very slick deal if you know you like the Casper Nova. Seriously doubt you'll ever find it for less.
I personally like the Nova. IMO, it's best for side sleepers and those who like soft/plush beds. I almost bought the Nova, but my partner prefers firmer mattresses and this isn't it.
FYI, I ended up with a Nest Sparrow, 1/2 plush, 1/2 medium firmness (the Sparrow medium is actually pretty firm). The Sparrow cost almost $2,000 during a Labor Day sale. The Casper Nova is far less (with this deal). I haven't tried the Snow version or the Element.
I'm happy to talk mattresses as I've tried a lot of them!
My favorites: Casper Nova, Nest Sparrow (plush), Amerisleep AS5, also Leesa.
Did not like: Nectar, Layla, Brooklyn Bedding Signature (even though everyone else likes BB).

How does the Casper Select at Costco compare to the nova?
The Casper Select is pretty close to the Casper Original; it's going to be medium/medium firm. You can likely find a store that carries the Original for you to test out, then order the Select from Costco if you like the mattress.
I've had a Queen size Essential mattress from Casper since 2018, and it's the best mattress I've owned so far. It was a budget buy to get something in my first place where I lived alone and it's been worth the ~$600 I paid for it. I ordered a King size Element Pro yesterday for almost the same price and I'm looking forward to it.
The Essential is their budget option. It has a moderate level of support, no cooling tech, and no edge support. I roll around like I'm on a rotisserie some nights and it's supported me in every position well.
If you're looking for reviews and testing I recommend looking into the NapLab. They do a pretty consistent test for the mattresses they review.

It's overwhelming! On purpose, most definitely.
