Thats pretty thin. Should be 22 or 23 for quality Cat7.
If you need a long, flat ethernet cable this should be an acceptable option. If you're actually seeking a good Cat7 option you'd do better with something else.

If you need a long, flat ethernet cable this should be an acceptable option. If you're actually seeking a good Cat7 option you'd do better with something else.

How can a flat cable be twisted pair.
Bigger issue it's not UL listed for in wall install and even if it was there are levels of wire insulation for in wall install. Because if a fire starts in one place you don't want it spreading via the jacket burning. So. I definitely wouldn't especially if going through the attic.
Good CAT5... or 7 whatevser from monoprice or elsewhere is not THAT expensive

Technically there is no such thing as Cat 7, but I'll bite anyways - it usually denotes good enough cable when it's called that.
I LOVE flat cables for carrying in my pocket/backpack, as an I.T. type I always have a few flat six footers on me while working. I DO NOT recommend them for POE use or critical server type use, but they're probably fine for plugging your Nvidia Sheild into your router long term.
However I can roll one up really small and keep it in my pocket/carry cases. They are way more convienient as a temporary work tool than "real" Ethernet. Occasionally I have to throw one of my flat ones out, it gets yanked too hard or whatever and just quits working. I can't crimp a new end onto it, the guage is way too small - part of why I say no POE.
Even though I can't recommend these for permanent use, for someone like me who has to plug one into an IPX4 cabinet then close the door to keep the AC in and sit 20 ft back in the shade (or in my truck) to work on something in the cabinet, these things are gold.
I have been buying Cable Matters network cables lately. No issues. 30 foot is $11.50. 3C says it has been as low as $8, but not lower than $10 since the Before Times.

Under 20'? screw it, you can probably get gig speeds with coat hangers for each pin. I've done gig PoE over CAT3 for ~25' because it's what was there.
