"32 AWG conductor gauge"

Thats pretty thin. Should be 22 or 23 for quality Cat7.

I find it difficult to imagine that a flat ethernet cable, especially one with such thin gauge wire, can possibly meet the Cat7 standard. Of course, for a wide group of users this should perform fine considering no one is likely to be connecting this between two 10GbE ports.

If you need a long, flat ethernet cable this should be an acceptable option. If you're actually seeking a good Cat7 option you'd do better with something else.

Good luck!

i have 50 to 100 ft runs of CCA cat5/5e/6 and they've been working fine with POE for the past few years
no noticeable difference between my solid copper cat 6 when using for IP cameras

I use a few of these flat cables in the office. 6 ft, 30 ft and 50 ft. (Last one might be another 30 ft). I get 950 Mbps down. Never had any issues other than a puppy eating one of these.

Reliable, I put them around other wires. Zero problems. People crying about specs but $4 is a no brainier.

Cat7 wire was designed to support 10 Gbps. You should have no problem to get 10 Gbps than 950Mbps, or you don't have the correct switch to use cat 7 which the cat 5e cable is enough

Good enough what I need it for. If the cable is not totally Cat7 standard, which just going to use it for a small business office no biggie for my stuff. I'd go with something else if you going for 10gbe connections. What I do is mostly Cat5. Worth the price $4 cant complain about that.

I jumped on the full round Ca7 25ft amazon bassics last year for $3.40 So naturally I thought the extra nickel in savings and extra 5ft of flat ethernet cable was worth it. So I ordered one. I have a box full of various types of ethernet cable that I have purchased over the years. Typically I buy from monoprice. I buy from Amazon when they have cheap cables.

Damn SD, I see the MSRP price and then I go to Amazon and it's $5.xx and not the $13.xx SD has it listed. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good deal but SD really wants you to buy for the extra commission

I wish someone would create wireless ethernet cables. It's annoying running wires from one room to the other.
There is quite a bit of networking equipment to get what you need done. You may be referring to a wireless Ethernet bridge. It will convert your wireless to Ethernet to your PC. Not really that popular for a reason. Get a good mesh network and Wi-Fi speeds are pretty solid nowadays.

Even wireless mesh systems you can connect Ethernet to it.

How much for a 50 ft?
Good to have with you if you are troubleshooting as a network technician.
Also flat cables are better because they can be coiled up tightly and thus are more portable.

this would be good for Security camera with POE?
Hi d43kf0

No.

Wires are super thin, thus not intended for PoE / Power over Ethernet.

For PoE you want to go with 23 or 24 AWG cat5e / 6, copper wires not CCA wires ..

If you are running wires in the attic or in-wall look for a cable which is properly rated for in-wall.

also, claiming this to be cat7 certainly is a "stretch" of imagination .. I would even call this a fraudulent description.

note: thinner wires = more resistance, less power can be carried on it, heats up more .. this is why you have minimum AWG gauge for electric wires depending on watts carried ..

I recently ran ethernet through the wall from downstairs to upstairs using CCA cat 6 (~50ft) in to a wall plate. I used this 30ft flat amazon cable from the jack - tacked along the baseboard - to behind my bedroom dresser which has my second router in AP mode, tv, ps5, etc. Would have preferred the jack directly behind the dresser but I couldn't figure out how to pull that off on my own due to the layout of the house.

There's a slew of power cords behind the dresser that this cable is mingling with and I still get north of 2400mbps (same plugged in directly to my main router downstairs with any non-flat cable) using OpenSpeedTest on my blue iris/server downstairs. I've run extremely long tests with OpenSpeedTest, iperf, gaming sessions, etc and it's been rock solid. Funny, the cable is smooshed by the door to my bedroom closet where the jack is and it's been opened and closed a thousand times in the last 3 weeks since install. Still good.

TL;DR It's fine. Hell, it was also fine with same speeds and stability before I installed the wall plate and just used a UGREEN 10gbps coupler.. a product with terrible reviews. I've also used various flat cables for years with PoE cameras on the front of my garage to snake between the door weather stripping... maybe I'm lucky.

In general saving a few dollars on the cable, and creating potential current or future issues for trouble shooting, or rerunning cables is problematic when cost of labor and downtime are included.

CCA - big problem is aluminum ( core of the CCA wires ) is very brittle and more likely to break vs copper wires .. just a big headache when this does happen

32 AWG conductor gauge vs 23 or 24 AWG copper wiring ..

32 AWG has a resistance of 164.1 Ohms per 1k ft
24 AWG has a resistance of 25.67 Ohms per 1k ft

This means the 24 AWG can carry electrical power better, long, further, with less heat vs the 32 AWG wires.

also 32 AWG wires are very thin, and more prone to breakage vs a thicker strained version.

Network technicians will tell you that 30' would not be considered a patch cord, let alone flat cables.
