The link for the pole saw kit is not factory blemished, it is factory reconditioned. That means the tool is used and just thrown in a box for shipping.

They are returns that are stamped RECON. No reconditionaing is actually done. I've gotten several 40v batteries that way, and they've all been fine but its a crapshoot.

18GA is too thin and they don't have much of a head. I have the Ridgid pneumatic model. I'd aim for a 15GA and use galvanized nails. There's a Ridgid 15GA for $72 which is a pretty good deal. https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com.../ZRR250AFF

I bought 2 over a year ago. 1 was bad after 1st use, but dto replace it with another. I still have one of the 2 left now. I would not buy another reconditioned battery as it would be a crapshoot to see if you get a good one or not. Recommend you buy the blems as more likely to get a newer battery rather than one someone has tried to repair.

18GA is like a sewing needle or thin toothpick. I bought the nailer just because I wanted one but unless you're installing stuff like baseboard or door trim it's not very useful.

Now I'm just waiting for a framing gun to go on sale...

I got a recon miter saw for like $30. I didn't have one and needed one so it was worth it but you're 100% correct. It was just tossed in a box and it was DIRTY. I would not buy recon ever again and haven't. All my blemished stuff has been a dented or ripped box with a perfectly fine/new tool inside with the exception of a dead 40V battery but they replaced it without giving me any hassle.
