Tickets are generally $950-1300 for economy during off season. The best deal I've seen is maybe $650-750 range for Sept-Oct 2020. I haven't seen it that low since. My Nov 2023 ticket was $1100 with American Airlines.

I just paid about $730 round trip with zipair with food and seat selection (maybe not an actual perk?) from LAX earlier this month. Is this a deal for Florida specifically? Or just this specific airline? I know zipair isn't the nicest way to fly but it gets you there.

Something to consider (unlike domestic, South America, or Europe deals) is that most transpacific flights include checked bags and seat selection, which is an equivalent $150-$200 on other international flights. Depends on carrier but I know Delta and American normally do it.

That would make this pretty slick. Japan for under 1,000 from the eastern US is solid. Edit: looks like late March (spring break/warmer weather) is back around $1,000 or more. This is more of a pure winter deal.

From what I've seen, tickets from LAX are usually cheaper than departures from East Coast. Flying from East Coast anywhere to Asia in general has been more expensive and in many cases flights are actually with a LAX connection. I'm not sure if it's just due to LAX being a popular hub or the routes airplanes take. But it's been my observation for many years.

NYC and Washington might be an exception here but for the rest of us unwashed East Coast masses flying to Asia it's a "no deal for you" usually.
