that's a big deterrent to me.
Switching from att to T-Mobile 55 plus ($50/line plan) gets:
$1000 towards a 15 Pro with trade in
$800 towards 15 with trade in
$400 per line switching from att to T-Mobile
$100/month for 55+ plan two lines (includes Netflix and Apple TV plus).
Existing T-Mobile customers have old cheaper plans so complain understandably. But compared to current ATT plans (I'm at $180/month) this is a great deal

Upgrading to Go5G Plus is $185/mo plus I'd get an iPhone 15 Pro, three Galaxy S23s, Netflix, and AAA. The $40/mo difference over two years means the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro, which means I'm still ahead three S23s, Netflix, and AAA. If I go through Costco, I would be saving on the $35/line upgrade fee plus I think I would be getting some form of bill credit or shop card.
Once I complete the 24 months, we'll probably move over to Google Fi. Is my math correct?
Edited to add: the answer is yes. The $185/mo price is only for new customers. Existing customers would be paying $220/mo (and really $260/mo since there's no way I'm giving T-Mobile direct access to my bank account).

I was on the One plan and switched to the Go5G Plus plan. My free lines transferred over and it cost me about $35 more a month. I was paying extra for Netflix which is now free and also get Apple TV+ for free now along with some other perks.
I switched because I needed 4 new phones so while I'm paying about $720 more over the next 24 months, I'm getting about $3200 in value for new phones, so definitely worth it in my situation. Being able to upgrade every 2 years is another nice perk that I'll definitely take advantage of.
