Took advantage of this offer. Was moving 2-lines over from Verizon anyways and wanted the iPhone15 trade in promo.. so was pretty much a no brainer to get an extra $400 in gift cards doing activities that I already planned to do.

There's no phone promo big enough to justify changing a legacy Tmobile plan to Go5G.
true story, I'm still on an old One Plan $50 + $5 Auto Pay discount. I was curious about the new Go5G plans, but you can't see the prices, they tell you to call for pricing.
that's a big deterrent to me.

Never trust those gift card shipped after 12 months. I got screwed out of 2x 250 cards. They only gave me bill credit for 250 for 6 months. I have proof they offered the cards after opening new lines and they said it was a promotion I was never valid for.

Are there any trade-in deals for regular ONE plan users (not ONE Plus)? Also does anyone know if Costco/T-Mobile is still doing the $75 shop card for upgrading a phone?
$75 Costco card included …. I preordered last week via Costco

It's a great deal if you're switching from ATT to T-Mobile. I just spoke with Costco T-Mobile rep.

Switching from att to T-Mobile 55 plus ($50/line plan) gets:
$1000 towards a 15 Pro with trade in
$800 towards 15 with trade in
$400 per line switching from att to T-Mobile
$100/month for 55+ plan two lines (includes Netflix and Apple TV plus).

Existing T-Mobile customers have old cheaper plans so complain understandably. But compared to current ATT plans (I'm at $180/month) this is a great deal
Why are all these deals such top secret? Why does one have to visit a kiosk to get the details in 2023.

I have a super old Select Choice family plan. 4 lines + even older $10/mo family stateside mobile add-on (unlimited int'l call/text). $135/mo (after taxes and fees). I'm also getting some weird $10 credit for YouTube (I won't complain).

Upgrading to Go5G Plus is $185/mo plus I'd get an iPhone 15 Pro, three Galaxy S23s, Netflix, and AAA. The $40/mo difference over two years means the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro, which means I'm still ahead three S23s, Netflix, and AAA. If I go through Costco, I would be saving on the $35/line upgrade fee plus I think I would be getting some form of bill credit or shop card.

Once I complete the 24 months, we'll probably move over to Google Fi. Is my math correct?

Edited to add: the answer is yes. The $185/mo price is only for new customers. Existing customers would be paying $220/mo (and really $260/mo since there's no way I'm giving T-Mobile direct access to my bank account).

I had a legacy plan. T-mobile screwed up my account and I lost it. The only benefit I get with new plan is "free" netflix. Video quality is nerfed up if I don't use a vpn.
T-Mobile is heavily trying to get people into higher paying plans for benefits are are arguable negligible. I'll stay on my essentials plan $90 with my 5 lines and just buy the phones myself.

I think that depends on which legacy plan and everyone's individual circumstances.

I was on the One plan and switched to the Go5G Plus plan. My free lines transferred over and it cost me about $35 more a month. I was paying extra for Netflix which is now free and also get Apple TV+ for free now along with some other perks.

I switched because I needed 4 new phones so while I'm paying about $720 more over the next 24 months, I'm getting about $3200 in value for new phones, so definitely worth it in my situation. Being able to upgrade every 2 years is another nice perk that I'll definitely take advantage of.
Except the plan you're on now will be replaced and you'll not be getting the same trade in you're getting now. It's almost a guarantee at this point.
