This is not always true. All the free line promos carry over with the switch. You'd probably lose out on kickbacks.

it will definitely increase regardless, but some may see it justifiable depending on their current plan/promos. I hate Tmobile but I cant get rid of them lol.
You are absolutely correct. I should have clarified in my comment I was referring to lines without any free line promotions, insider codes, and family and friends discounts. My comment centered around pure line costs.

There's no phone promo big enough to justify changing a legacy Tmobile plan to Go5G.
Speak for yourself. I upgraded 8 lines for a total of $10 more a month (grand, $150). All 8 get free trade ins now and every two years.

iPhone 12 pro,13 pro and 14 pro $360
That's awful! Is that the max? I'm not upgrading my plan lol they can kick rocks,I'll just buy my phone outright and save monthly or just wait until promos get better

I agree. Every single one I looked at winds up more expensive with little to no material gain.

Why did you leave mint? For a single line I can't find a cheaper carrier

I agree. I still have 6 free lines from T-mobile deals back in the day. I'm maxed out at 12 lines $140/mo.
Let me guess: Tmobile One Plus Promo with AutoPay ($40), Insider (20%) and Kickback ($10/line) discounts?

6 paid, 6 free including Netflix standard, unlimited North America and Mexico, etc?

Great deal!

Incredible offer that one was, don't think there's been any better deal for a maxed out 12-line account. (maybe military/first responder gets additional discount?)

Literally less than $12 per line unlimited everything!

Never had an issue. It takes a while as per the fine print, but iirc the give you a site to check status.

I'm on Simple Choice Plan with 7 lines unlimited for $135 out the door. I can't imagine how much they want for the new services nowadays.

I think it depends on the legacy plan, but for example, my "family" of six lines pays about $30 per line with unlimited data and netflix. but with autopay and an business discount (from an employer that the user hasn't worked for in 2+ years), we actually pay less than $25/month for all that jazz. on the rare occasion I talk to a t-mo employee who wants to try and get me on a new plan, they end up giving up and saying they can't beat what I currently have. they'll have to pry this plan from my cold, dead hands.
I'm on Magenta Max with 5 lines, one of them is free and I pay less per line than that. I don't think that is an exceptional deal. There are people with 6 lines paying sub $100. Not criticizing, just providing context. As long as you are happy with your deal, that's all that matters

Can you explain why? I have a legacy, and would sincerely like to know the differences.
I have the old family plan, 4 lines for $100 and have slowly added a few free lines over the years, I pay $180 for 7 line all unlimited so yeah it wouldn't make financial sense
