I'd get $0.99 for my T-Mobile/ASUS TM-AC1900 router. What a joke.

You can definately add these to the eero 6 and any other eero routers.

These are a super solid solution for anyone, especially someone on a budget.

They are wifi 5, not wifi 6, you can add wifi 6 eeros to these or vise versa.

Wifi 5 is plenty for wifi video streaming 4k.

This router has 3 bands, 2.4 and two on 5.8. It uses one of the 5.8 bands for backhaul so you get a great flow throgh the other channel. 2.4 is great for range and home automation blugs, etc.

It also has 2 ethernet ports for running easy wired connections between routers. Most of their products have 1 ethernet and two bands. This eero Pro (5), the eero 6 pro and the eero 6e pro also have 2 ethernet ports and 3 bands.

The one glaring drawback is so many new laptops and devices are already on 6 or 6e.

If you have a complex house with many home automation devies and many tvs, shell out and get wifi 6.

eeros 6e routers are still half bakes. I assume they will be good after the software is progressed.

The latest generation (eero 6+, Pro 6E, and Max 7) use 160 MHz channels. If you add any older generation eero to your network, the whole network will fallback to 80 MHz to maintain compatibility. If you are looking to extend a "latest gen" network I would not recommend these. If you want to get 2-3 of these and stick with them for a long time, they are great (used them for 3-4 years over large space, very good)

Extensive reading and review - https://evanmccann.net/blog/2022/...-6e-review. (sorry this review does not include the eero Pro of this deal)

I tried to replace my t-mobile converted AC1900 by Asus AX86 and did not notice any range/speed improvements. You can get 600-700mbps if you stay right in front, but if you move next room or next floor I was getting exact the same signal level and speeds like AC1900. I saw zero improvements I returned AX86.
PS I used speedtest on local lan using nas capable of 1gbps read speeds as a host and samsung S20 as a client (MIMO 2x2)

I recently purchased a 3 story house. I haven't had to use any mesh or extender devices. I am worried that my current Asus RT68U will not each all corners of the house. Can this eero Pro be used with my current router? It appears that not. Is there another alternative that I can use? Do I have to use mesh routers of the same brand?
It can be used. It will play a role of an access point. For the three story you have to rely on 2.4 or place several APs (aka mesh) or use ethernet as backhaul (lan or moca). AC68 has superior antennas, eero has just sticking wires within its body.

Just ordered to add on from the last deal.
Been using the Echo Dots to extend the network, but they don't work nearly as well as the dedicated Eero units.

how long is this offer good for? Don't you have to send in the trade-in to get the 25% off applied to your account?

It'll work. You definitely need Mesh WiFi. Even if you didn't need it, the speed different is drastic to where it's worth the price you paid 1000x over.

Using the same brand is more seamless. You can choose not to but it's more complicated. Just stick to the same and buy more devices if you need more. My recommendation is to ethernet the middle of the area you most need the connection. That would act as your 'base' station and spread out the WiFi more evenly throughout your home.

Does this work as is or needs eero system?
This router is the eero system by itself. So you don't need an eero system to work with this eero system 😂

I have eero pro 6e, and it's not compatible with many devices like chamberlain garage opener - it just won't connect. And the coverage wasn't as good as I thought. I have a 2500 sqft house and I have 3 on each story but the coverage is just okay.

Is it OK to mix this with eero pro 6 without affecting performance on the pro 6 nodes?
