The 5600X I bought is part of a PC build meant to be an Xmas gift for my nephews that I wanted to put together ahead of time while it was still in stock at a decent price. Don't feel bad a/b pay $100 more for your 5600X. Imagine buying a 5800X for $325 in 2021 on discount from a promotion only for it to sell today in 2023 at $180-$190 while on sale: welcome to my life, lol. I don't lose sleep over it; as technology gets older, it eventually gets replaced by something newer and better and the point of diminishing returns occurs, forcing it to be sold at a "bargain" which sucks for early adopters, but is a boon for "slickdealers". It's the nature of the beast which I've learned to accept.

This is actually a pretty good deal. I recently bought a 5600X for $130 during Prime Day and an AsRock mini-ITX motherboard for around $90 if that means anything, and you shouldn't have any issues w/ the quality of Asus AM4 motherboards.

The flashback BIOS feature allows you to update/flash the BIOS w/o accessing the BIOS or OS. You simply copy the BIOS file to the root of a USB flash drive and connect it to the designated flashback port on the motherboard and press the flashback button and you're off to the races.

You don't know what you're taking about. That's literally the way the chip is designed.

Vermeer's thermal limit is 95C, so why do you think it sat at 90-93C? Because it intentionally seeks that limit. The fact that this makes you "uncomfortable" is not meaningful in any way. And yes, technically that means the cooling is the bottleneck preventing it from boosting higher, but it's unlikely to make a noticeable difference in your performance.

You didn't "solve" any "issue", you just gave it a little more thermal headroom, and since you didn't even bother to dispute it, I'll go ahead and assume I was correct and it made no actual noticeable difference in the performance of the chip.

Stock cooler is fine, especially for the use case being described here.
I know exactly what I am talking about, its hilarious you think it hits 90's by design. It CAN run hot, that does not mean IT SHOULD run hot. Kind of weird that my new $20 cooler makes me idle in the high 30s/low 40s and I never go above 80 gaming. I didnt reply about performance because I didnt care enough to read that much. I run my cpu stock, performance was not the issue. It does exactly what it did before, but cooler. Almost as if the stock cooler was actually garbage, crazy huh?

This is a great cheap pci e wifi card with good capability.
Also has Bluetooth for gamepad / ear buds pairing.
Had terrible experience with this brand, got a wifi-6 usb adapter and just doesn't seem to work normal. keeps disconnecting all the time. now i am out of return date. Frown

Also, if one buys a new boxed CPU from say ebay casual seller, will it still be under warranty from AMD? or is it not worth the risk to save $20 or so.

ah, well you can always have peace of mind and get an ol' reliable tp-link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084JPFKQ5 this is what i use in my rig and it works fine, granted you install the correct network drivers and have a modem/router with the correct capabilities it should be fine. As for a bunch of things I own, i purchased it from amazon warehouse for like $17 a long time ago. It looked brand new, but someone clearly ripped the cardboard of the packaging at some point, but every wire was still tie wrapped.. I have that cheap fenvi in my "back up" PC and it has worked fine for me, but I haven't really used it for an extended period, really just speedtested it to verify it was working. i've heard drivers for network cards can be finnicky

as far as amd warranty goes, i have no idea if it would still be covered. I'm not familiar with the warranty procedure, this 5600 ive been running for about a year is my find AMD chip
