Howard Forums has the most Tracfone experts, and they recommend taking screenshots of your balance regularly. I have not had any problems with my family's Tracfone lines, but unfortunately if you draw the short straw, Tracfone is not known for their great CSRs.
just know that TracFone routinely zeroes out your balance.
Since the plan came with the phone, you will have a very hard time getting your plan back. They always want to see when you last BOUGHT the plan.
Tracfone nuked one of my lines doing a transfer. Subsequent calls resulted in another line getting wiped out - probably 7 calls in all with a wide range of awful behavior by the CSRs. I filed an informal complaint with the fcc with screenshots of balance and time/date of each call + timeline of all the shenanigans. After a few weeks and a couple emails, a Tracfone rep that deals with fcc complaints calls and the problems are all fixed in about 10 minutes.

Why didn't they just fix it in the first place? You're correct they just don't care about fixing the problem once it falls outside whatever script they have. Any sort of common sense/logic falls on deaf ears. Their goal isn't to help you at this point, but make you give up through whatever means possible. The best recourse IS an informal FCC complaint which is very much free and was extremely effective for me.

Tracfone CSR is so horrible it should be criminal.

Do you have to be in the US to unlock this phone?
I am in the US now to activate the phone but will be outside the US 60 days later

Once unlocked, can the phone be used internationally?

Yes, you have to be in the US to request the unlocking codes from Tracfone's unlocking website. TF websites cannot be accessed from outside the US. TF's security protocol blocks access from non-US IP addresses. Using US-based VPN servers would not even work.

I haven't tested this particular device but I do know that unlocked TF flip phones can be used internationally

Does anyone know If i buy it do I have to unseal it and turn it on for signal with cell tower for initial activation or is simply going to their website and typing phone's IMEI enough?

The bundled phones came with Verizon service even before Verizon bought the company (Nov 2021).

screenshots don't mean anything for tracfone. They will blatantly lie to your face. FCC would only do something about it if you submit a formal complaint, which you'll be looking at $5k - $10k in fees.

Activating the SIM using the IMEI on the website is enough to start the unlock timer. You don't need to turn on the phone. However, on the 61 day, different phones have different ways to unlock. iPhone can be left in the sealed box because they will unlock during the initial phone setup. Android manufacturers all have their way of unlocking phones, I'm not sure about how Samsung does it. You may need to open the box, setup the phone, and request unlock.
