I think the reason they got rid of the collection is because they want people playing PS5 games now that there's a solid lineup available. And if you already redeemed them you're all good, they'll stay on your profile.

I received an email, activated my GOW bundle a day or two later, and haven't seen the banner yet. When I search each game on the list, though, it says something along the lines of 100% free where the price is.

It definitely sucks. I remember during the PS3 generation when online multiplayer was free. I subscribed to PS+ because Target had a pricing error where they marked down PS+ 1yr subs to $15. I stocked up, and I was able to get free years of PS+ codes when I worked retail. I haven't worked retail for quite a few years, and my PS+ subscription is set to expire in a few years. I'm definitely not renewing because I hardly have time to play online games. Plus most communities are toxic. I'd take a great self contained single player experience over a toxic MP environment any day of the week.

Only decent since we had $50 off the console last month, and some of these games have gone on sale for 50 or less. If it was "Buy the console for $450 and get a free game" it would be much more tempting.

Ive been on PC games and Steam for over 15 years. I bought my first console, a PS5 disc version. I'm coming from the other side, but I have to agree with you. A subscription fee? Must have the disc in to play? Limited titles. Expensive titles.

I recently set my pc up to play on the big tv and, I'm having a hard time finding any reason to renew my playstation premium sub, when I can everything on my PC that the ps5 can do and eat more.

Just my opinion, but the PS5 is turning into a monthly expense, that I'm not in to. People will say, a PC costs more, I'm not finding it does. Once it's built that's it. If you want to update a component you can, if you like. I built my machine in early 2020 and I have no need to update for awhile. Basically 4 years with zero cost. I can pay everyone and games on Steam are cheaper, better imo, and there are so many free games. Not free if you pay a subscription fee, just free. You can even use your ps5 controller lol.
