Too heavy for my aging wrists, but a great brand and a great price if you're strong!

Note these are the older models, which are enameled in china.
Lodge recently built their own enameling facility (first and only in the US), and have a new line of 100% american made enameled cast iron.

Any difference in the actual enamel itself? As in, are there any dangers of using the China one vs. the US one?

The one made in china has spy chip built inside the enameled cast iron and it can collect your diet data

I don't think anything from walmart isn't made in China. I doubt they carry the new ones.

Only the design with the little swoosh on the outside is mostly Made in the USA (except for the metal embellishments). These tend to chip quite easily and chipped enamel on the cooking surface is no good. FYI, the Made mostly in the USA ones are $300, not $30.

Its hard to say for sure, since there is no real evidence of their enameling process.
That said, if lodge found it a worthwhile investment to build an entire factory to do it in house, there was probably a reason.

They also have the 5.5qt on sale for $39.98, with free shipping.

Given these don't seem to be sold on Amazon, and they have a different shape than the Lodge cast iron that is on amazon, I think these are just chinesium with Lodge name on it. Reviews are mostly positive but lots mention chipping & cracking as you would expect of chinesium chinamel.

A lot of Lodge cast iron on sale. Ordered a few pieces. Looks like they're matching Amazon prices.

Go with the 5.5 qt, it'll get used more due to bigger size. I use mine a lot for jambalaya, soups, stews, etc.

I want one that uses the new enamel for like a 6qt one. Any tips on how to tell the difference?

Much heavier than the new US models. Comparable to the $50 Tratmontina model.

They have different handles on the lid and dutch oven, with metal inlays.
If you go to lodges website they have a clear divide on the product lines.
