Got a 36-month lease for $5k down, $349/month, 10k miles/year in central Jersey, for an SE AWD Hyundai Ioniq 6.

A model Y is about $200 more per month.

So, picked an Ioniq 6 mainly for the difference of the monthly lease payment between the two.

Why do you have to put $5k down on a lease?

OP got ripped. Do research before entering a lease. Don't just shop monthly payments, especially if you are comparing to a completely different car and not factoring in the down payment.

$550/month for modern Y requires the same $5k down and 10k miles/year, without any upgrades.

I don't have to, but it is part of the current promotion.

Can you find a better lease deal? Lease an EV is the only way someone can get the $7,5k federal tax credit.

Use leasehackr and edmunds forums to research a good deal. Not saying anything about if it is a good deal, but I see an SEL for the same price except 2k down. Need to factor in all data points, not just monthly payments.
