I've had these since day 1. The price is great. For anyone wondering how these compare to the XM4s, here are some pros & cons:
PRO:
- Smaller earbuds and case
- Claimed to have better battery durability (XM4s battery capacity significantly dropped within a year of heavy use)
- Sound on par with XM5 despite smaller size
- Replaced the spoken status with chimes (end result, quicker to resume playing)
- Senses touch more regularly than the XM4, which was pretty finicky
CON:
- New charging case can't fit large ear gels, resulting in poor connection/failed charging/accidental connection to phone
- This is the biggest annoyance as it requires me to remove the gels to charge them every day.
- Prefer the matte finish of the XM4 (as do many others)
- A little too sensitive to touch - I wear them to bed and on rare occasions, they are triggered by the pillow when by rolling over
Great deal but after the XM4 firmware debacle, I am not very sure about 90days warranty. I will personally wait for it to be on eBay with the 2 years warranty. Or buy the extended warranty if you really cannot wait.
Googled "Secondipity reviews" and got results going back to 2015 that look pretty good. They have a seller reputation on eBay; 98.7% overall in the last 12 months. Negative reviews in the last month, but reading through, they offer a prepaid label for returns, another they indicated that they sent him a prepaid label but had yet to return the item, still left a complaint. Percentage is probably indicative of the buying public drawn to the items rather than the seller. https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/secondipity?filter=feedback_page%3ARECEIVED_AS_SELLER&sor...[ebay.com]

Funny. I found that I bought my XM4's from them last year. They have the battery problem, so I have a feeling they weren't actually refurbished.

I tried these. Not that impressed... especially for asking price. If ok with stem design and passive sound isolation (they are very good), the Between Pro beats anything out there. They are 98 bucks on Amazon right now.

Agreed, I was going to buy the xm5's at launch but instead bought AirPod pro 2's with Apple Care. My dead xm4's made me really hesitate to buy Sony again this generation.

Discounting the active noise cancellation is basically discounting the biggest selling point of this set. Beats Pro is nice, I own one for exercise, but the XM5 is in a different stratosphere for noise cancellation.
