Excuse my ignorance, but what makes this any different than the other UST ALR screens out there?

I have been in the market for a good UST ALR screen for a few months now, but haven't been able to commit yet on such a pricey luxury purchase.

This seems right in line with the pricing on most other screens (as posters above have mentioned).

What makes this screen unique that it warrants being considered a deal at this price?

With the hisense u8k 100" tv now released, there's no reason to purchase the 100" alr screen IMO.
At 10k$ right ✅️?

At $5k 👍

Amazon had it in stock, but it's currently listed as unavailable.

If you search the 3 camels 🐪 you'll see it was priced at $5,153.68.

Listed here at $5k as well: https://valueelectronics.com/prod...-smart-tv/

Hisense has Value Electronics listed as an official dealer of theirs: https://www.hisense-usa.com/authorized-retailers

Personally, I'm waiting for it to go on sale, and then I'll be replacing my projector. I enjoy the 120" screen, but I'll give up a little screen size for better black levels and HDR.

Description says "Ideal for use with Epson EpiqVision™ Ultra short-throw laser projectors". How well does it work with a random high quality projector (not short throw)?

If the projector is an ultra short throw it will work fine, but it will not work well with a traditional projector.

Just a deduction here:

But probably not well. The screens that are designed for UST projectors have components that are made to optimize the light source originating from just below the screen (as in the case of the UST projector placement). For a long-throw style it may not be optimal.

Is there a similar type of screen for standard front-facing projectors?

My friend has similar screen, blacks look amazing. He has one with his ultras short throw and a normal laser 4k projector. His 4k Sony projector does a good job with the black, but I think the screen impacts the brightness.

Is alr screen's quality image comparable to TV's ?
no. No projector compares really to TV but the tradeoff is that a TV looks like a TV and projectors are easier on the eyes.
