Got this from the Apple store for the same price on release day. After nearly a year, I feel a bit of regret I didn't get the regular iPad instead. I mainly use iPads for media consumption, and don't notice any performance differences or much of a screen difference from the iPad 9. I do like the USB C, but the battery in the Air doesn't last nearly as long as the iPad. The fancy screen in it is also super expensive to fix, so be sure to get Apple Care with it.

So, it's a great tablet, but unless you're going to use the Pencil or do some PC-type work on your Air, I'd stick with the regular iPad.

Last year the 4th gen dropped down to $399 to sell out so maybe the same thing will happen to 5th gen…

It why I always buy electronics using Citi Premier. Saved me a couple thousand dollar from a defective iPhone that stopped working right after the warranty period.

Have learned firsthand that it is almost never worth it.
Use Target 5% for shampoo, chips, etc.
Never ever ever for things where you might possibly need to seek action under a warranty. Or even valuable things that you might drop or lose or have stolen (hello, awesome AMEX protections!)

I'm eyeing the air or the mini depending on the spec bump but people like Gurman and Ming Xi Kuo are saying different release dates. October or March 2024.
