Probably because it's a heavily promoted brand constantly pushed by Paid SD Staff Influencers. Also it's USB 2.0 data transfer speed (480 Mbps) - which isn't uncommon for "charge" cables, but also makes the cable a little less universally useful. drawback info like that also seems to be omitted on these type of posts 🤔

These no name companies that seem to pop up repeatedly have their fan base, but they are also basically advertisements. there are many generic cheapy cables out there, it's just a question of which are decent/good value. just because these are posted often and get upvoted doesn't inherently mean they're better... at the same time, just because they are shilled doesn't mean they are bad.

Ex: here's another often promoted brand JSAUX with a 2-pack 100w cable for a dollar more (also posted by Paid SD Staff Influencer)

I've been getting these during 3 lightning deals since 2021
($6.07 $6.07 $5.53)

so $5.15 is the lowest so far

yea it's a shilled brand, but all of them are still working well and i don't need fast data speeds, only fast charging so I'm fine with that
Some people are complaining that this is USBC 2.0 charging only... Yeah it's two for six bucks... Of course it is.

Unless you see specific details saying otherwise it's safe to assume most lower cost USBC products are going to be 2.0, charging only.

You're not going to get full service USB 3.0 or thunderbolt for $3 each. So just seems like a strange complaint

I bought this for home charge. I brought one to an exam and it is broken middle of the test, my screen become turn to on battery mode and screen brightness reduce ( really distract me from my test), since we use examplify and I cannot adjust anything during test. But lucky my macbook still had 40% battery. Just don't take risk on important event. Other than that, it good deal for home use or cafe study.

I've been using 4 of these between home and office for the past 2 years as charging cables. Not a problem with any of them. I had bought a few more last year to keep with my travel bag since I travel a lot. No problems there either.

Real user here. I own a few of these from this brand and they work just fine! But I have to say the right angle is kind of dumb most of the time and not useful. Straight plugs on both end would prove more useful in most of my use cases.

I bought these cables and they are absolutely great. Because of their construction, they will last forever.

should be.. i have several of these... i mean at this price, they're quite disposable. Just not good from recycling side.
Agreed! Cheapo cables have a greater cost. It's just not an upfront cost.

got them in today. seems to work fine. Only issue I am having is that the cable is very stiff. Not as flexible as I like it to be. debating on returning them as they are not easy to fold back to store away. Just my 2 cents.
