I think 30w would be plenty to charge most laptops when they're not in use, shouldn't take more than 3-4 hrs max. The challenge would be to keep a power hungry laptop fully charged while in use, so intermittent use should be sustainable.

Only pushes 30W through USB-C. Not enough to charge most laptops. I was excited for a minute. Still could be useful for charging other devices in a hotel with not enough plugs or maybe on a cruise?

Now up to $18, which is 10% off.

Worth noting that if you use all 3 USB ports at once, that the USB-C caps at 20W and the two USB-A ports caps at a *combined* 10W.

OP, might want to check the specs in the title. There is only 1 USB C port on this thing.

Edit: Thanks for updating the title!

And for phones, in general, 30w is more than enough.

Yes. This is what I do. My MacBooks are good for all day use and I simply charge them with 30 watt at night to full. Even power hungry ones because they are napping

Even when I am using the Pro14 that usually has the 90watt charger, 30w will keep some juice flowing and if I keep the screen less than full brightness, it will maintain battery level just fine too.

I DO WISH these damn chargers just come with all USB-C instead of usb-A mixed with usc-c cuz now I have to use a adapter as I've pretty much switched all to usb-c other then stupid logitech camera or dongles that are still just USB-A. like wtf Logitech

The benefit of this is you can pair it with another 45w or 65w (or 100w) charger depending on what you need for your laptop, but the 30W is enough for any phone or the Steam Deck. If you are on a plane or similar, a 65W power brick is going to constantly fall out of the socket. Using an extension cord, which is much lighter, means you get a more stable connection in abused public power outlets.

I'm going to be pairing this with my INIU 45W adapter, which can also handle 2x20W.

https://www.amazon.com/Charger-IN...r=8-3&th=1

(I paid around $16 for it if you want to wait for a deal. It works well and supports PPS).

My laptop can draw about 96W, but as long as i'm not playing AAA games, 45W is more than enough.

I currently have this. It's nice, quality Anker product. Only thing I would say is if you have something plugged in to both ports on the side and in the front usb, it takes up a lot of odd flat space, and you're going to be bending one of the cables most likely.

Technically, USB-A is only supposed to put out:

USB 1 and 2: 500 mA @ 5V = 2.5 Watts (amps * volts = watts)
USB 3: 900 mA @ 5V = 4.5 W

That's why high-wattage devices like CD burners needed to plug into two USB ports.

10 W for two USB-A ports combined is the max you can get. The phone/tablet chargers which delivered higher wattages weren't standard USB-A. They typically used an extra-long plug which would mate with higher voltage contacts, to deliver higher power if you used that charger, that cable, and that device.

USB-PD (often used on USB-C) delivers higher power by negotiating with the device to deliver power at a higher voltage. (The amperage is limited by the diameter and length of the wire.)

I feel mislead by "Savings $14.99 for 1", haha

Seems like a good unit.

You know standards get revisions, right? That hasn't been true since spec 1.1 in 2007. [wikipedia.org]

The reason cd burners used two was because they had to assume the output was the minimum since most people won't know what their ports are capable of.

Kinda stating the obvious here, but since it's an extension cord too, you could just plug it in and then probably charge other devices on the laptop's USB ports too.
