I'm so confused by the swamp crotch comments.

I switched to polyester underpants, and I love them. They are significantly less sweaty than cotton.

Cotton doesn't wick, it holds the moisture next to your skin. Polyester wicks it away from you, and lets it evaporate.

People say Polyester build up smells, but they come out of my washer smelling nice and fresh.

So, the whole thing is so counter intuitive. How would wearing a wicking material make your sack more sweaty?

Cotton boxers hold sweat and stretch out throughout the day. They suck.

Agreed, 100% cotton or nothing at all. These, or anything artificial is just asking for swamp crotch.

Too bad they are polyester. Polyester has a negative impact on men's testosterone levels.

I love these boxers but it's so rare to find them in S. I got lucky with a bunch of packs from Marshalls but they never restocked. And to the nay sayers on here, synthetics breathe better, so less sweat, less smell, cotton is what stinks. This becomes more obvious if you wear wool or synthetic socks vs cotton socks.

Modal is an amazing material for underwear, better than cotton even. It's basically a cotton formed from beech tree cellulose.

The point is, neither cotton nor polyester "wicks". You either get breathability and coolness from cotton with the negative of absorbing sweat or you get no absorption from polyester but trapping heat and therefore stink and sweat on your body.
You act like there is one kind of Polyester. In reality, Polyester is just plastic, and there are a wide variety. Just because you can make long johns out of it, doesn't mean that another kind can't be breathable.

It's just capillary action. It's no myth.

Lower testosterone? Yes Please! My unrelenting maniless has been bullying me for some time now. I'm just too chiseled and burly for my own good.

I'm not sure what that link's purpose is. It doesn't refute anything I said. REI is the last outlet that's going to talk honestly about the negatives of polyester, they sell tons of synthetic clothing. In fact, it seems like that page is just cherry picked information from this more informative article: cnn.com/2023/09/04/politics/jill-biden-covid/index.html
There is some real irony in your refusing to acknowledge capillary action, saying my article is useless, and then linking a CNN article about COVID as a refutation.

I am convinced you are a Troll. Good day, sir.

Sweating in porous skin tight polyester is a bacteria haven. And creates an acid with your sweat. Overall, it's bad news. Better to go balls out naked. Some people that don't sweat much can get away with it, but I was made to live in an ice cave, so that isn't me. YMMV.
