how does the family deal work? it can be any 6 people with an outlook address? like I could find a few friends and then just invite them from the main account?

Yup, doesn't even have to be an outlook address.The only thing is now they have to be part of your "Microsoft family" if you use the family stuff you might care. Previously they were just like added with no real tracking.

Just as an FYI, I had a M365 Personal subscription that was set to expire in November 2023. I Purchased the one year bundle. I got the code and followed the activation instructions, and it automatically extended my M365 Personal subscription to November of 2024.

(Then I got an extra one-month free for keeping recurring billing on, so it actually doesn't expire until December 2024).

Got the 15 month Family plan to extend my existing plan because it was about to expire next month. I got the product key in an e-mail within 5 minutes after order and then went to Microsoft 365 Family manage subscription page and "Redeem a code or prepaid card" and put in the code, etc. Expiration date showed Jan 2025 after that.

Microsoft offered an extra year on top of that for $69.99 but I did not take them up on that.

Software subscriptions do suck, but at least the OneDrive storage with this is decent.

right the onedrive storage is what really makes it a deal.. considering how much cloud storage is in general… ill take one drives no prob

What's the advantage of having M365 vs Office 2021? Do you get to keep using regular Office after the M365 subscription period is over?

If you are looking for the most bang for your buck on a O365 family plan, buying this personal deal is the way to go.

Adding a personal code to a family plan adds 9 months to the family plan:

So this personal plan - $39.99/9 mo = $4.44 per month

Family plan 12 mo - $64.99/12 mo = $5.42 per month

Family plan 15 mo - $67.99/15 mo = $4.53 per month
