As commented in previous KY-31 threads, this is an older breed - and its use is almost exclusively for pasture. There are not many reasons to plant this in your home yard, and even those who raise horses on pasture [uky.edu] are shying away from 31 in favor of more modern breeds that don't brown as early.

If you already have a KY31 lawn or pasture go for it, but for those who think they can get top-tier lawn seed for a front or back yard - caveat emptor.
