This is a great espresso grinder but keep in mind that it is one of the loudest. This was about $275 early this year on sale - hence not the best deal. you can also get a single dose hopper from the manufacturer for about $25.
Great grinder. It's loud, but grinds really fast. Replacement parts are easy to get. Super easy to clean.
The coffee giant, Breville, bought this company back in 2020. Not sure how I feel about this. Not a huge fan of Breville products, but just personal preference.
It can do espressos. You'll need to install a special shim to grind fine enough for espressos.
Low retention after the first few grinds, but mostly because the previous grinds filled the voids and clearances inside.

Are you talking about the price of the 270? The price here is $5 more…?

The new single dose hopper ($24) fits Encore and Virtuoso but does not fit the Sette.
To be clear - The Sette family of grinders are exceptional for espresso. No shim needed. The Sette 30 is less capable than the 270 because it has fewer steps for grinding. The 270Wi is more capable because you can grind by weight.
