didn't you hear ! 8GB is perfectly fine for 99% of casual computer users ! just bc ram is cheap in 2023 doesn't mean you get more of it for less ! apple consumer logic !

but to be fair.. i'm seeing a lot of windows laptops with only 8GB and that's even more trash bc windows is even more trash when it comes to needing more ram. tho, laptops come with a keyboard and display... for less.. still 8GB is trash.

For the people this is targeted for 8gb is plenty on MacOS.

The gift card is a digital number so it could be sold if you don't want to use it toward something else.

With edu pricing it's 499 and you get he $100 Apple gift card. Confirmed this works. 399 is slick.

Nobody is buying an entry level desktop at $399 needing 16GB ram +.

The entry level already edits 8K ProRes without a hitch, same with photo editing etc.
