Word of warning, bought this last time it was on sale and the magnet falls off with my phone on bumps. Great idea but poor execution

MagSafe on official iPhone case. My iPhone 14 pro Max falls more than my wifes IPhone Pro, fwiw

Thanks for the info. FWIW, ESR claims that their Halolock cases have a 30% stronger hold than the official MagSafe cases.

I just had a closer look at the product and reviews. Yes, is a common complaint that this mount cannot support heavier phones. But it seems that the problem is that the charging pad itself is detachable from the vent mount (in order to allow the phone to be used while it's charging), and the charging pad is also held onto the vent mount magnetically. Apparently it is this magnet that holds the charging pad to the vent mount which is weak. From the reviews, the magnets that hold the charging pad to the phone/case are much stronger and not the issue. Anyways, ESR also makes a "one-piece" MagSafe/Halolock vent mount and I will wait for that one to go on sale.

I've tried many MagSafe chargers with my 13 Pro Max. ESR HaloLock ones seem to have the strongest magnetic connections and are therefore the most compatible with MagSafe cases. However, I wouldn't get a vent mounted charger… The vent clips all seem like garbage.

I found the halo lock way stronger on my 12 pro than two others I tried, but it is wierd that the charger itself detaches from the holder. I cannot figure out why they thought that would be a desirable feaute. It's only helpful if you wanted to stop using it in a car.

I have a little older halo lock vent clip that I use with a different mount. The magnets on it are very strong, I never used it with the vent clip though.

I had same problem that the phone fall off. My only solution is use with this "ESR Dashboard Magnetic Car Mount" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCHX3...D12KM98BVV) which has crazy strong magnet and no more falling problem for the charging unit. If someone wanted to use the item itself, not recommended.

To be clear it's not the phone that falls off, it's the ESR device magnet connected to the "base". The device magnet stays on my phone (there are two magnets) When it falls off it looks like the posts image, magnet on phone, and that is disengaged from the base

I have two different kinds of MagSafe vent mounts (one simple mount and the other MagSafe charging mount) made by lisen and both are great. 13 pro max with apple leather case. Doesn't fall
