It's a really great wrench. It probably grips the best of any wrench I've ever used. I already own about two dozen Knipex and have tried or own all the different types.

I am a plumber and when I don't mind marking up the pipe a little this type of ranch really does grip better than any other kind of ever tried.

However, Knipex cobras are already going to grip significantly better than most other brands. However, these don't fit in as tight of spaces as a cobra and unless you're a service plumber it's probably not necessary.

I just can't talk myself into buying these. My Cobra's work great on pipe under 1" and for anything bigger a normal pipe wrench works well enough.

I had those and they failed on me before on 1" gas black pipe. I recommend the other design with a treaded nut adjusting the opening of the jaws.

So what is the difference between this and a regular Cobra? The anti-pinch thing?

I've never pinched myself on a Cobra. Has anyone?

Cobras are very sturdy for their size, but this is more like a heavy-duty pipe wrench, like this one:

Yes, I see that now. This one is 2 pounds, the Cobra is 12 ounces.

So this one has a lot more heft to it, comparable to a plumber's pipe wrench.

I love my harbor freight one. Comes in super handy for outer tie rods. The snap on one is stupid expensive, this seems like a great middle ground
