This is better than NAB6. The CPu performance is similar but the 680M has nearly 2X the performance of the Intel Xe Graphics with 64 EU in 12650H. Remember, i7-12650H is a stripped down i7-12700H as it has only half of the E Cores (4 vs 8 in 12700H). Similarly, unlike other i7 with 96 EU based Iris Xe Graphics, 12650H has only 64 EU.
Also, this model has USB4 which is equivalent to Thunderbolt 3/4 and you can add external GPU dock or any new Thunderbolt docking stations. NAB6 lacks it and only has normal Type-C with Display out.

It is actually a bit overkill for that.

Beelinks are usually a little better. Beelink is the top mini company out of all these Chinese mini makers. Minisforum is probably #2 but there is a gap between them and beelink. Beelink has better customer service and quality control. Minisforum is no slouch though, just don't expect it to be better than beekink for a comparative model

How is their NAB6 model with intel i7 12th gen cpu barebone for similar price? I wish these had 2x PCIE SSD instead of 1 PCIE and 1 SATA.

I was going to wait until next year for AMD's strix point APU, but this is really tempting at this price.

Curious how these compare to Beelink minis. I'm hoping the cooling solution and fan noise are both as good or better - anyone had experience with this or similar?

Which Beelink model you are referring?

I am far from an expert but my understanding is that Intel processors are still preferred if you want to use it for something like Plex Media Server because QuickSync is so efficient.

Bingo. Get Intel for Plex server duties. Get Plexpass. Done!

An AppleTV does the job too. For the server side generally you will want Intel.

Solid candidate for a beefy home server that'll handle some RTSP video processing as well?

This would be an absolute monster for that purpose.

Hopefully just the first of many R9 offerings this BF season.

Personally waiting on a 7940HS deal, would be great to see at this price, barebones and all.

It does appear that mfrs are working out the design kinks in these things. Except for extremes, mini PCs are taking away the drive to build conventional desktops.
