According to this [google.com] spreadsheet, no. It's good up to PSP/Sega Saturn,

About half of PS2 games work well, some work okay, some don't work at all.

I have one and for me playing FFX was the biggest priority when it came to PS2 and it plays that great.

I've had it for 2 months and I love it, really great deal even before the discount.

As soon as they make a dual screen 3ds edition I will be in. We are probably a few years away from that, however.

Just note that Retroid no longer preloads ROMs onto their devices

A used 2DS is probably the best option for 3DS games. Not too hard to find, and can still buy replacement batteries from Nintendo. It's relatively modern, has WiFi, is relatively cheap and easy to hack. It can natively play 3DS, DS (cartridge or sideload), as well as official digital or sideloaded Gameboy Advance and Gameboy/Color Also does NES and emulated SNES unofficially (New 3DS/2DS can do SNES emulation "officially"). It basically can play all of Nintendo's handheld library, pre-Switch, all without emulation.

eShop is gone, but installation files aren't hard to find or make.

I feel Nintendo killed off the 2- and 3DS line off too soon. If it was still around, I'd buy another one or two. Great handheld.

I have zero experience with either one but from reviews and forums, it seems Retroid is better quality than Anbernic. The RP2S also has the front speakers that everyone seems to appreciate.

I use a Microsoft surface Duo I was able to get cheap on eBay. Since I didn't need the phone service it was okay for me to have a broken IMEI or whatever.

Depends on what you want. This is more powerful and will be able to play more, though it's Andorid-only. If you care about using Linux firmware, which tend to be easier to set up and have nicer UIs, then Retroid is a no-go.

Check out Russ's instructions and YT vids. I have bought 3 Retroid handhelds because of his videos. The latest being the Pcket Flip, which is basically the same hardware as the Pocket 3+.

I own the RP2+ and the RP3+ and I fully endorse the RP3+. It's an amazing little machine. I pre-ordered it when it was first announced and I've had it this entire time without any issues. I didn't think it'd be as big of an upgrade from the RP2+ as it really is. I use it to play a lot more PSP games than I thought I would. Being able to run full speed at 3-4x makes a world of difference. Along with the way better screen, the better joystick, as well as better sound and fill in hand, I really think it's the best ergo's + performance at this price point right now.

The only thing I'm waiting for now is something that can play Windwaker at full speed while keeping a similar form factor (I don't want a big huge system that only gets a couple hours of battery) and I'll be happy.
