YMMV.. saw this at my local HMart for $154.99 which is the lowest price I've seen.

This is a great rice cooker.. I'm asian and everyone I know has one.
I've been using my parents' Zojirushi for the last 10 years.

Amazon also has this for $30.99 off at checkout making it $159.59 if you don't have a local HMart.

As an aside.. my friends and I did a blind taste test against those $20 rice cookers and every single person could tell the difference.

The only downside is it takes ~45 min to make the rice. But if you can plan ahead it does have a timer mode where the rice will finish at the specified time.

The Zojirushi website shows multiple models.. not all are made in Japan. The ones that are have a badge indicating such. You have to match the exact model number.

I have a similar non-Japan model (NS-TGC10) that I paid $130 for 13 years ago that I use at least once a week. Aside from the internal soldered battery dying a few years ago (which isn't a big deal if you don't care about the clock), it has worked flawlessly. I think $159 is a good price in 2023.

Cheap rice cookers also have more hard rice at the bottom of the pot. These waste less rice in the long run too which might save money. Typically I find in the cheap rice cookers I have to cook a decent amount because there is always so much "bad" rice
