Those are some advertising lies. K&N are CARB approved CAIs which mean they are the same size and flow as stock so as to not alter the way a MAF sensor reads. If there is any gain from having one it is from the filter element, in which case a less expensive drop in filter accomplishes the same thing.

Source: I've run three different chassis dynos over the last twenty years.

You don't need this to shred tires in an accord. Just put the kids in the back seat and floor it.

Cold air usually has the air filter isolated, to some degree, from the engine so it's pulling in colder air from outside the engine bay (some go into the fender of the car). Ram intakes usually have a shorter run to the throttle body but pull in warmer air from the engine.
