Get Walgreens coupons
Thread Details
Just FYI to people. We all knew how bad Walgreens inventory management was - that didn't previously apply to online orders. Guess what it is now impacting online orders too.
What they are doing is taking your order and asking a particular store to fulfill it. But we know that the store inventory information is all wrong. So what the store does is ship you only some items and cancels the rest. So if you are depending upon getting rewards for certain $ spend - either their reward coupons or product category spend, now your order is short of the spend category. So basically now you are buying at their inflated prices without having the rewards to soften the blow.
I have had problem with 3 of last orders - they will arbitrarily cancel one thing but online, it is still available to ship.

To (hopefully) avoid pickup order issues, I put my items in my online cart and then go to the store to make sure that they actually have the items. I gather all my items and I then explain to the staff that I am about to submit a pickup order and that I have all the items right here. I've never had issues doing it that way. They don't seem to mind because it is less work for them.
Oooo… that's a good idea. Ironically, that partially negates the intended convenience of their service lolol.
And are you fairly certain that the coupons revert when the store cancels the order?
(What about returns? I think returns wouldn't cause a reversion, but a canceled unpicked up order might.)

Mine have returned when I cancelled an order and they come back pretty quick.
Returns, no. The coupons don't come back.

Btw, how does one cancel an in store order? Just tell them in store, then you get an email?

One more question about coupons, sry. Any idea if the "Walgreens Spend" coupons are generally one-time? Like "Spend $25 get $15."
I placed two >$30 orders yesterday where the cart-estimator showed I'd qualify for a few WC offers. The estimator is ofc, not always right, but more often than not, it has been (IME). I also go over their mins by a bit more just in case.
The first order, as you now know, got messed up. I placed a second separate order that also qualified before realizing I could tell them to cancel the first. The estimator during the second order showed the various Spend offers qualified, but when I picked up the order, the offers didn't come through.
My guess is because the first order (still uncanceled at time of second order pickup) was still valid and the offers were "attached" to it.

I had a problem because I checked the box that said they could deliver early (I had unchecked the box but it got added again) and so my local store picked up the order.
So I placed another order and made sure the box was not checked - so it would be shipped. Within 10 minutes of placing the order, a store in Mississippi hijacked the order, cancelled part of it, and shipped the rest.
So I placed ANOTHER order. This time, everything was shipped, but it was shipped from a store in Utah. It even shows up as an in store order, although I have never been to Utah.
I guess that would be okay as long as they didn't let stores ship the order unless they had everything that is available. Or had the other items shipped from another store. But to have a store halfway across the country grab your order and ship part of it and cancel the rest is not a good thing.
This is different from the inventory management issues they have always had. More than 60 percent of items are not available for shipping at all any more.
They always shipped from the fulfilment center at Illinois (not the same as same day delivery from stores) so it isn't an issue with store inventory. They are just not stocking up on items for central shipping.
I placed an order last night to be shipped and used $50 Walgreens rewards to pay for it.
Today I find out only part of my order is coming from the warehouse.
The rest of it got sent to the nearest store and is getting picked up by Doordash.
I had no idea that anything would involve Doordash. Nothing on the order said that.
And because the store didn't have enough quantity on what I ordered I'm only receiving part of it.
The warehouse may not have had enough in stock either. But if they did, then that's how I would have preferred to get my order.
My rewards balance had better get credited back properly for the missing items.
