Can this be jailbroken, or is it stuck with crappy amazon store ecosystem?

Look up FireToolbox , it automates everything. You can remove most (recommended) or all (experimental) of amazon's bloat. I have used it on Fire 10 a lot, hopefully still works on Fire 11.

How did this turn into a rant about Amazon GC policy change thread? There're other forums for off topic discussion.

Prime Day 2.0 is October 10th.
If you're going to do a Trade-in, I'd wait until then to purchase to see how they configure the Prime Day discount. Last Prim Day, the 20% trade-in coupon came off the full price of $230. $230- 20% - $184 - $80 Prime discount = $104. Plus whatever GC amount Amazon gives you for the device you traded-in.

Though you might want to Submit the Trade-in now, so Amazon will receive it with enough to time for appraisal, if needed. Because it's YMMV on who qualifies for Instant Credit.

Plus you will have some time for reviewers to appraise this tablet. I mean, best Fire tablet yet is pretty meaningless when the previous generation is garbage.

I just did the 20% trade-in and it was off the sale price. From a trade-in I did in August preparing for Black Friday actually. Don't know if that matters.

That's why I was saying I would wait. Because today's price is just a straight 'Sale price' of $149, so that's what the 20% coupon applies to.

On Prime Day, it was deducted as an $80 off "Prime Day discount" when added to cart.

Speed is so horrible, even if you jail break, it's not going to work good.

PS I just installed Google playstore to install apps.

People get Amazon GCs from tons of stuff, online trading, surveys, reward programs, cashback programs, those stupid 'play mobile games for rewards' apps etc.

It's much easier to have one Amazon GC balance with say $370 than have 25 different gift cards all containing between $5 and $25, and then when you wanted something from somewhere outside Amazon such as say Dominos pizza? You could get exact amount (provided it was over $15), so if my Dominos order is $16.73 I could directly buy Domino's giftcard from Amazon (using Amazon GC balance) for exactly $16.73. Now I don't have random $8.xx left on some $25 Dominos GC that I may or may not remember I even have (you can't add them to Domino's wallet or something in app).
i see. now i remember those amazon gc rewards from playing online games. anyway. no big deal. just spend them on something else. domino, kohl, lowes,...are all overpriced anyway. you can get their giftcards at 15% off everyday. your amazon money is always there for life. i have spent all those 20% off Happy cards from lowes within a few weeks, not years like i have thought.

The "Max" must stand for "Maximum disappointment". These are poor performers for the money with genuinely underwhelming SoC's, only 4GB RAM, and base 64GB internal storage -AND you have to cope with lock-screen ads? Yeah I'm not seeing much value here.

There are tablets that sit in the same price-range that come with double the RAM, double the internal storage, no lock-screen ads, actually normal Android OS, and similar strength SoC's. If you're going to buy something that comes with an SoC that performs like a couple year old midrange chip, at least get something with respectable storage and RAM.

Got this for $80 last Prime Day, with a trade in of fire HD 10. They had $80 off for prime day, 20% off (plus $30 GC) for trade in. The $6 in reward points were mine but everything else was included in the deal for anyone who had prime & a trade in.

You can probably do better if you're willing to wait on a better sale…

Items: $229.99
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Tablet Trade-In (20% off): -$46.00
Deal of the Day: -$80.00
Total Before Tax: $103.99
Estimated Tax Collected: $7.54
Gift Certificate/Card: -$30.00
Rewards Points: -$6.39
Order Total $75.14

Interesting, good to know. Will have to watch for that. I'll probably keep with this deal. Very much would like to try the fingerprint sensor. See if it works with my password manager and other apps.

That tablet is in China with about a month shipping, you're screwed if it has problems, it's $200 and the Geekbench 5 score is half the Fire Max 11.
