If you're going to do a Trade-in, I'd wait until then to purchase to see how they configure the Prime Day discount. Last Prim Day, the 20% trade-in coupon came off the full price of $230. $230- 20% - $184 - $80 Prime discount = $104. Plus whatever GC amount Amazon gives you for the device you traded-in.

Though you might want to Submit the Trade-in now, so Amazon will receive it with enough to time for appraisal, if needed. Because it's YMMV on who qualifies for Instant Credit.

On Prime Day, it was deducted as an $80 off "Prime Day discount" when added to cart.

PS I just installed Google playstore to install apps.
It's much easier to have one Amazon GC balance with say $370 than have 25 different gift cards all containing between $5 and $25, and then when you wanted something from somewhere outside Amazon such as say Dominos pizza? You could get exact amount (provided it was over $15), so if my Dominos order is $16.73 I could directly buy Domino's giftcard from Amazon (using Amazon GC balance) for exactly $16.73. Now I don't have random $8.xx left on some $25 Dominos GC that I may or may not remember I even have (you can't add them to Domino's wallet or something in app).
There are tablets that sit in the same price-range that come with double the RAM, double the internal storage, no lock-screen ads, actually normal Android OS, and similar strength SoC's. If you're going to buy something that comes with an SoC that performs like a couple year old midrange chip, at least get something with respectable storage and RAM.
