Can this be jailbroken, or is it stuck with crappy amazon store ecosystem?

Look up FireToolbox , it automates everything. You can remove most (recommended) or all (experimental) of amazon's bloat. I have used it on Fire 10 a lot, hopefully still works on Fire 11.

How did this turn into a rant about Amazon GC policy change thread? There're other forums for off topic discussion.

To all those complaining about these tablets. Any android alternatives that don't suck? My kids have been using these Fire tabs for a few years and they struggle with Roblox..id love to get them something better. However, the 4GB of ram.in these seems nice. I think their current 10" fire tabs have 2gb.
The processor is also 2 1/2 to 3 times as fast in the Max 11 as my current gen Fire HD 10 Plus.

Youtube "fire max 11 tablet roblox." A lot better than the older fire. No "new" alternative with better performance in the $100-125 range,

Bought my kid a Nokia T20 and it runs Roblox fine, unless there's too much going on then it lags. Otherwise, it should play most of the experiences fine. Was able to get one in mint condition on Swappa for $75.

I got the max in the last prime day sale for about $80 after trading in my 2017 fire 10. Compared to my old fire 10, modern tools like fire toobox makes adding Play Store support a breeze.

Tried a few adventure games (mostly via netflix games) and here are my perceived evaluation of performance (1-10 where 10 would mean it's flawless smooth and looks sharp):
  • Kentucky Route Zero: 10 (mostly untextured graphics)
  • Oxenfree: 9
  • Twelve Minutes: 7 (quality setting is force to low and so it doesn't look very sharp)
  • Nier Reincarnation: 7
  • Oxenfree 2: 2

So Oxenfree 2 would be the newest game on the list and it performs horribly. Like if the 10 framse per second animations. Studio recommends a minimum 3dmark score of 2000 and the max only get 1000. Makes me realize "amazon's best" is a carefully crafted term.

I use FIre Toolkit to customize it with different launcher and other stuff. it works great for me on my daily usage. IMO, it is the best tablet for that price range.

Just to add an alternative opinion, I've had about five or six fire tablets and they're not as horrible as everyone is saying. One big thing that I'll point out is that I've noticed from many years of helping people with their computer and electronics problems, often people will stop using a phone, tablet, or laptop, then power it up and turn it back on and decide it's slow and buggy. Often it's slow at this point because everything on it needs an update at the same time because it was left unused for a while. These Fire devices also download a lot of pictures and videos for all the Amazon Prime stuff you have access to.

I typically only use mine to do a little light web browsing, watching videos, and maybe a few comic books. I have the Fire Max 11 and I actually prefer the cheaper HD10s. I can drop an HD10 and not worry that I'm going to break something nice. I buy one of these tablets every year or two.

This is false. It's actually buggy. You have to install more than just the Play store APK. Luckily the Fire Toolkit makes it easier but it's not turnkey working out of the box like a real Android tablet.

Installing widgets is hit or miss. Also, some apps and games don't work well.

The whole tablet runs slower because you cannot uninstall Fire OS services that are always running in the background. Even the Fire toolkit says, "disabling some services may cause instability"

For the same price, the ONN 11 Pro is a better option. And the ONN comes with 128 GB vs 64 GB.
They're actually correct. You can just install from the apk files and install whatever you want. Most people aren't used to using apk files, and they need to have stores installed. Those other packages that the toolkit installs allows for all the other things Google Accounts have access to in the Android world, like notifcations, email accounts, calendars, etc. You don't need all that stuff to just install an app.

I can't comment on this Fire Max but i have the 2021 10 plus and even with the extra 4GB of memory it struggles with some apps. My 8 year old iPad 2 still has no issues running apps or even viewing PDFs while the Fire always is choppy and lagging. I even have the build that it was shipped with so I removed all of the Amazon bloatware the FireToolbox could remove. This was my last Fire table and will be looking to get some other brand at this price.

He was out with the homies searching for bread and happened upon 15 fire max 11s.

You bought a budget tablet expecting it to be a capable gaming tablet...

I wonder if this will be around $100 with big prime sales tomorrow it costs more to fix my iPad 7th gen charging port than the cost of this fire tablet

I have had numerous fire tablets, and have hated them all, even after jailbreaking or side loading apps...the Amazon ecosystem just sucks...not risking it again.

These tablets aren't even worth $75. They're probably returns sold off to liquidators. eBay is full of Amazon returns. There are many YTbers that show these unopened returns.
