It has smart Person/Vehicle Detection. I don't see a mention of AI so probably motion event.
I think 820 has AI and from what I was reading it has a usable push notification. Though I personally don't have the 800 but that is my experience with other similar security cameras with pixel based motion alerts
Personally I think camera bundles with NVR should be a bit more cost effective since the cameras could be dumb and cheap and all the motion detection is happening on the NVR itself. But if you only need one or two cameras it may not be worth getting NVR and just get the separate microsd cameras instead. The method of motion detection seems to be similar in both - it can be really bad in NVR and it could be really good in the newer more expensive smart cameras. Though for obvious reasons I think it's probably easier to put more processing power into NVR since it has a heck a lot more space and better temperature control than a relatively small camera. I'm currently looking for AI within NVR , though I'm not sure if they using real ai technology or just a buzz word. But people say they are usually amazingly good in detecting people/cars/animals than the old pixel based method
Here's ( link follows ) a great example of a great amount of work put into what most think is a "killer setup" .. and yet, due to affordable cameras ( including Reolink cameras ) the image capture quality is poor for moving subjects. It's really unfortunate imho as this setup is basically failing to get a good ID image. ( had he had a few well placed 4MP 1/1.8" or 8MP 1/1.2" sensor cameras we'd have much better results )
Reolink in general are know to have ghosting issues in low light conditions ( firmware is optimized to capture stationary objects .. )

That stated, take sometime to review what you want to accomplish ..

In general, expect to end up wanting 2x the cameras you expected before you started this ..
