That USB pump looks pretty neat. I bet it may not have the same flow rate, but the convenience factor is huge for me. I bought one. Thanks!

I had one of those Double Quick hand pumps that I tried using camping a few weeks ago and it failed miserably. Somehow the valve inside got stuck wide open so it would blow air in, then suck it right back out again when you pulled the handle up. I bet I pumped on that damn thing for 5 min straight before realizing what was happening. Mattress didn't inflate one bit.

I tried disassembling it at the time and there was no noticable problem with it that I could tell. It's a super simple mechanism, basically a cylinder with an o-ring and a bunch of grease inside. There had to be a check valve in there somewhere but I couldn't figure it out and just chucked it in the garbage.

Lesson learned: Test everything before you plan to use it in the woods.

Should specify air pump. Not suitable for liquids.
