not a great deal , knowing that it was selling for $1200 https://www.costco.com/msi-aegis-...39139.html [costco.com]
So $300 off isn't good? Even for a refurb (based on your own sources) this is a steep discount. Your logic isn't quite adding up.

Refurb means used
More than likely a return for a faulty component that was repaired/replaced. These are certified refurbished so they should be in new cosmetic condition. It also includes a 2 year warranty. It's a personal preference if refurbished is worth the discount over new.

I had a 5 year SquareTrade warranty for a TV that I bought from Costco. My TV died with 2 days left on the warranty. I thought for sure they were not going to help me. I put in the claim immediately and they scheduled a time the next week for a repairman to come out with some new components. He tried fixing it but agreed that it was dead.

After some back and forth emails for another week, AllState agreed that the TV would be replaced. They will try and screw you over by offering three budget TV options worth far less than your product. I held firm and explained why the features were not comparable to the TV they were replacing. Eventually they agreed to send me the latest model of the same brand TV in the same tier. So I'd say it was successful, but prepare for an ongoing "haggle" with them for 2 weeks.

Edit: this was about 2 months ago.

Any issues with proprietary parts/ connectors? Any issues with thermals or limits? Trying to find good PC component review.

I would replace cpu cooler and gpu right away if u want good thermals and 1440 game play. 1 fan cpu cooler isn't enough for 13th gen. Also that video card is much slower (old) than current $ 300 12gb gpus (6700/6750)

it is an ok deal. Looking over the specs, it is using a lot of older technology from a couple years ago like 3060 video card and slower ram DDR4 3200. Who uses regular spinning hard drives anymore especially when only 2tb? I would be concerned putting my data on that if the drive is refurbished. It maybe has about $900 in parts but the only thing I would really want out of it is the 13th generation i7. This is not a $2000 computer that they try to claim it was. It is priced at about what it is worth especially being a refurb.

not at the framerates and resolution a lot of gamers are looking for. It won't be the smoothest experience.
