I have 2x Studios pairs in stereo audio and they sound great. That said, I feel like Alexa has become "dumber" the last year.
Echo devices have become dumber. The wrong echo constantly hears me when I'm trying to talk to the echo show I have.

Voice recognition has always been subpar compared to google assistant as well. I was hoping they would have caught up by now

Otherwise I like my echo studio as well
I hate that they keep slapping Dolby Atmos on all kinds of products that definitely can't properly deliver full Dolby Atmos and muddying up what it should be to get the full experience. Similar to cheap "HDR" TVs that aren't actually up to full spec for proper HDR and give people a very misrepresented experience. Atmos is greatly limited and not the same experience unless your speakers are mounted to the ceiling above you.

I went a few years thinking HDR was overrated due to my cheap Samsung TV, but later after getting an LG C1, I realized what I'd been actually missing and thought I'd already had. I was similarly misled by a 5.1 soundbar system for some time until I got a great home theater setup and again realized what I'd actually been missing out on.

If you have a device to trade in, you can get 20% off.

$154.99
-$31.00 trade in
$123.99 before tax
+$7.44 tax
$131.43
-$25.00 gift card from trade in
$106.43 shipped

Not a bad deal if you're in the market for one of these.
Thanks! Where do we find the trade-in link? I'm not seeing anywhere on the product page.

Agree - I've had a ton of problems where it'll either not play music at all, or say "Amazon Music is playing on another device" when it's not. Also have had the issue of it only playing out of one speaker (don't get me started on how hard it was to actually successfully pair the two speakers in the app).

All that aside, I think having 2 Studios in Stereo does definitely sound better than 1. But it's only about 20-30% better, definitely not twice as good even though you're spending twice the money.

It's on the lower right, just underneath of the pricing / discount.
Huh, weird, I don't get that option. I'm signed into my account and have tried both Chrome and Safari.

Can you cast audio from mobile apps that show cast icon? For example, Plexamp.

I had this problem where 2 echos were kind of close to each other. I just changed the wake word on one from Alexa to Ziggy.

Wait!

You can use any wake word now?

No.

You can change the wake word of any Echo speaker or smart display from "Alexa" to "Ziggy," "Echo," "Amazon," or "Computer" for free.

Ah, thanks for the pic. I was referring to the Staples deal and should have known better to look at Amazon, per the thread.

Thanks. They mustve expanded to include computer and Ziggy since the last time I checked.

I used Google Home devices for several years. Last year, it seemed like Google assistant became dumber and I decided to try Alexa again. Alexa seems to be much more responsive in regards to smart home controls, at least with Home Assistant anyway. Alexa was considerably faster. Alexa was also much faster in starting music streams.

Alexa is inferior on asking general questions though.

The studio is $135 at Staples. You wouldn't get a trade-in at Staples though. Not sure if it's the same model though.

I also see 10% back when using Amazon's Prime Visa, plus was offered another 6% back when using Amazon Day shipping, which likely requires Prime.
