Pretty good deal for a 4080 with only the screen being the primary con. I would wait until November 1st to take advantage of extended returns.

Not sure how this is not a good deal, it's a 12900H so the CPU is a bit weaker with only 6 P-cores as opposed to 8. For gaming it's not a big deal frankly. Its screen is also not the greatest. Being 1200p (1080p) with lower color gamut is not at all ideal for content consumption or creation.

That said, the 4080 at 1200p for gaming means this would last a fairly long time before needing an upgrade if it's only for gaming. 144Hz is about right for maxed out AAA titles with the setup, esports people would likely want higher though.

The posting details on this are wrong though.

They have multiple options I believe. Several YouTube reviews for this show 12900H with the 1200p screen. The 1600p screen iirc has the 13900HX.

It's definitely a 12900H for this price. Otherwise it would be one of the best deals of the quarter.

As you can see from their official listing, the model number which is mentioned comes with the 13900HX paired with 144Hz 1200p display.
