This definitely looks like regional deal as someone else suggested.

you must be "new" to the ryobi hackable deals at home depot. no worries.

Basically you initially pay full price, add the free gift item to the order.
When you pick up your order or after it's delivered to your home, you go to the physical store and return the gift item to get the refund, which brings the entire price down.

Nothing json said suggested that they were "new" to the hack. Instead, they were clear in stating that they saw a higher price before and after the hack. Might be regional pricing.

These are much better batteries than the regular 4ah. But if you don't need them then wait till Oct 23z

I did. When you hit "cancel" you should get the option on the next screen (On iOS, anyway).

Android app does not allow you to cancel individual items. If you click cancel it cancels entire order.
