This is a good deal for 6AH HP batteries. It is actually better than the deal that ended yesterday for $198 for a 6/4/2 AH battery + free tool. If you only need batteries this is solid as there are no shenanigan's with returning of the free tool scam.

The 6AH is only 6% heavier than the old 4AH and 8% heavier than the new 4AH HP's:
P108 723g (old 4AH)
PBP004 709g (new HP 4AH)
PBP007 766g (this HP 6AH)

On the one hand, I'm all for saving money *especially* when it comes to big corporations, but you have to be honest and call it what it is, an abuse of their pricing system.

It's up to the end user to decide if that's ethical, but that's a different conversation.

I personally don't care and havent used it, but I certainly wouldn't call it a "hidden discount", more so an exploitation of an existing system.

I've been pondering trying some of the knock off 6ah batteries on Amazon, can get two for $65~. I don't have HP tools currently, but this seems like a really good deal

That looks great. However, I slightly disagree with the last infographic that 2.0Ah is suitable for a hedge trimmer. I purchased the hedge trimmer deal and a brand new Ryobi 2.0Ah Li+ battery. That combo lasts only about 12-15 minutes of run time. If you need to trim some small shrubs and trees, that'd be good. If you even have a side wall of hedge that is wider than 12 feet (6-ft tall), you'll need a bigger battery.

I have the knock off 9ah Ryobi batteries. I use them in my kids' Powerwheels. Under $100 for a pair.

They would be massive to use in an actual tool, but they work with my Ryobi kidswheel adapter perfectly.

Is there a reason Ryobi products are constantly on sale? Makes me rethink and buy into the system and replace Dewalt since Ryobi keeps going on sale

Can't speak for the logic behind it, maybe have a slightly higher MSRP so you can often run sales?

In terms of the tools themselves, any high demand, frequent use tool, stick with your Dewalt, they are contractor grade stuff where ryobi is more homeowner style.

Personally, I buy obscure ryobi tools to compliment my dewalt setup.
Misting fan, hand vac, polisher, etc are ryobi.
My impact, circular saw, sander, jigsaw, etc dewalt.
