The only reason why this even works (i.e. buy a deal with 2 or more products, return what you don't need ) is because these deals are accomplished by packaging individual SKU's together. Hence Home Depot's own system allows to return any SKU you do not want.

Certain combo deals are in fact single SKU's and do not allow for "hacking" (i.e. returning one of the items in the combo). When Ryobi/Home depot wants to enforce a combo, they'll force the single SKU product on you.

This isn't even a hack, the other day it showed how it was but that was a Ryobi special, the link goes right to a special buy so there isn't anything to hack.

Without the hack, if you add a ONE+ 18V 4.0 Ah Lithium-Ion HIGH PERFORMANCE Battery, it makes the set 74.89 and the 4.0Ah 64.11 (Reg 119)

I just started building my Ryobi tool collection. I've done several of the hacks/returns. I accidentally picked the wrong pick-up location in this deal so I canceled it and re-ordered. They then canceled my new order. Talking to chat, they said my account has been flagged. Is this common if you do the hacks too often?
