Here is some YMMV info.......without much convincing, they were willing to throw in a free stand ($89.99 value) and a free second attachment ($39.99 value), but YMMV.
And haters....please refrain from leaving too much hate. I realize $299 is still a heck of a lot for a blow dryer.....but not when compared with top models, and this seems to get fairly great reviews (but agree, it is probably not 5-10 times better than a $40-50 model). I have read many reviews on the Dyson and other high end models over the last 6 months and many professionals rave about their Dyson pro model, which is similar but with a more heavy duty filter.
This is the lowest price that I have seen for a new Dyson hair dryer and matches the price of a "popular" SD post from 8/2023

First....for me....not as good, since I am not a member of Costco. (I could not even see the price on your link). If $399...that is not a bad price....given it seems to be a $429 base price product, plus the addition of the stand (retail $89.99, but as I said in my post, they were willing to add that stand to my $299 sale price from Dyson. For me.....it comes down to how many of the accessories you will need and use. I, personally, don't think I have ever used the attachments on a blow dryer......so the $299 one is a better deal.........but if you truly will use all or most of the 5 attachments......the $399 price may be a better deal for you. (the base product at Costco seems to come with all 5 attachments......this post to the Dyson sale price only comes with ONE attachment....but as per my YMMV, Dyson may be willing to work with you. Also, for me.......I have been waiting for a black color hair dryer......as opposed to the Costco one which seems to be silver with pink. (but that is purely a preference thing). As you see in that Costco post though...it appears that about 80% ranked this 5 stars with <4% ranked this hair dryer 1 star.....which is quite good. I hope that answered your question...at least somewhat.
Got my hair dryer already....with free extra attachment...but the stand is backordered and I am expected to get this in a week or two. I am always amazed with even the thought that goes into the packaging of Dyson products.......and the dryer is very light, very quiet. Is it really worth $299....perhaps not....but definitely very above average quality product and given that I find Dyson customer service well above average.....I will most likely keep this product and I like it more than I expected that I would. (Initially, I thought there was an almost 40% chance I would return it......after receiving and using the product......that % is now down to 10%, perhaps.)

Glad I could help! Just curious...is that 4 accessories including the 1 that comes with it? Most people just don't think to ask....or just order it online. The more I use it...the more I am impressed by how well it seems to be designed.

You talked them into a better deal than I got......Great! The stand that I get is still out stock in the color that I wanted......so I will need to just keep an eye on their site and call when it gets back in stock. Since I use the lowest heat setting and the gentle style attachment, the unit is cool within seconds of turning it off...and it rests nicely on the counter. I am not certain that the using the stand is any easier. I think you need to take the attachment off every day if you use the stand, but I will not be sure of that until. it is delivered. It is a great hair dryer.......IMO, perhaps worth $199, but it is very well designed, and works well......and again....I think Dyson is a great company that stands behind their products. I have liked every Dyson vacuum that I have owned....and think I have owned 3 over the years. I also think that it is great that they are somewhat flexible in their deals.....and work with the customer to try to make them satisfied with their purchase.
